Alec received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Michigan State University. Determined to develop his advocacy skills, Alec was a moot court standout while in law school, earning individual and team awards in on-campus, regional, and national competitions. He also interned with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, where he not only researched issues and drafted documents but also attended trials and assisted in jury selection and voir dire.
Alec gained further substantive experience by clerking for a firm that acted as house counsel for Progressive Insurance. Along with research, writing, medical records review, and other work on first- and third-party auto cases, he regularly attended motions, pre-trial hearings, depositions, and case evaluations. He began his career at Zausmer, August & Caldwell as a law clerk in May 2016, where he worked on premises liability, malpractice, professional liability, and home insurance issues in addition to no-fault and automobile negligence matters.
A proud Spartan, Alec is a devoted MSU supporter as well as a die-hard Detroit Lions fan.
