With an eagerness to provide his clients with all of the facts of the case, Charlie Kersten works hard to analyze every piece of information and ensure there are no missing gaps.

Understanding the needs of his clients gives Charlie the opportunity to produce favorable outcomes and meet his clients’ goals.

A natural-born investigator, Charlie was drawn to study law and knew he wanted to help clients navigate the legal system. Charlie attended Drake University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Following in his father’s footsteps, Charlie decided to attend law school. He attended Michigan State University College of Law, where he graduated cum laude. While there, Charlie served on the MSU College of Law Board of Advocates and participated in various moot court competitions.

Before coming to Zausmer, where he practices in the Insurance Defense and Insurance Fraud groups, Charlie was an associate at a civil rights firm in Detroit. While there, he participated in several successful trials, including an employment discrimination case against the Michigan Department of Corrections and an excessive force case against a Royal Oak court official.

In his free time, Charlie enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, cycling, collecting albums, and spending time with his family and friends.
