An associate in Zausmer’s insurance defense and insurance fraud practice areas, he prides himself on being meticulous and getting the job done right for his clients in the most efficient manner. Elias understands that preparation, investigation, and analysis of legal and factual issues is crucial to obtain the most favorable results possible for his clients. He enjoys being in the courtroom, where he aggressively advocates for his clients to reduce or eliminate their exposure and liability. Clients appreciate his focused ability to stay organized and on task with an approachable, friendly attitude.
Elias earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Sciences from Missouri State University and his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law. While pursuing his law degree, Elias gained practical experience representing clients as a student attorney for Valparaiso’s Civil Legal Clinic in matters involving adoptions, guardianships, estate planning, contracts, landlord and tenant disputes, and conversion. In addition, Elias participated in the Trial Advocacy program and was a finalist in the 27th Annual Swygert Moot Court Competition, where he won an award for the best brief.
Before coming to Zausmer, Elias worked as a paralegal in the staff counsel office of a well-known global insurance company, where he found his niche researching and analyzing complex medical, scientific, legal, and technical issues. Elias assisted with both trial and appellate work and grew into a well-rounded, compassionate associate with a knack for knowing every aspect of his client’s cases.
Elias’s compassionate nature also led him to do volunteer work with several animal shelters and homeless shelters. Outside of work, Elias enjoys spending time with his wife and son, being outside, mixed martial arts, and rooting for the St. Louis Blues and L.A. Rams.
