Jonathan feels strongly that an important part of being a successful advocate, especially with trial work, is extensive preparation and knowledge of each case and its unique components. He prides himself on understanding every aspect of his cases and being prepared to handle any issue that may arise.
Before joining Zausmer, Jonathan practiced at a general litigation firm in Okemos, Michigan, where he primarily focused on first-party no-fault and third-party automobile negligence issues. Jonathan also has experience in matters involving premises liability, criminal defense, and family law. Throughout his career, he has achieved several successful outcomes for his clients in a variety of complex matters.
Born and raised in metro Detroit, Jonathan earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, from Wayne State University in 2010. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Jonathan was awarded a Trustee Scholarship at Michigan State University College of Law.
During law school, Jonathan was a member of Michigan State University’s Trial Practice Institute, gaining practical experience for a successful career as a trial lawyer. He also volunteered at Michigan State University’s Housing Law Clinic, where he provided free legal counsel to low-income residents facing evictions and other landlord-tenant issues.
Outside of the office, Jonathan enjoys golfing, traveling, and is a passionate Detroit sports fan.
