In Memoriam of Kate McCarthy July 5, 1987 – May 27, 2019

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague, Kate McCarthy. Kate brought a creative energy and passion for helping people to the practice of law.

As an associate in the firm’s Employment & Labor, Municipal Law, and Insurance Defense groups, Kate encountered new challenges every day and was quick on her feet and comfortable in the courtroom.

“The firm is devastated by Kate’s passing. She was a valuable and beloved part of our team,” said Managing Shareholder Mark Zausmer. “We will miss her greatly.”

Kate volunteered with The Daisy Project, a nonprofit that works to provide medical and recreational equipment to special needs families, and DMAN Foundation (Danny’s Miracle Angel Network), an organization devoted to enriching the lives of families and individuals living with physical and mental disabilities.  She also had a strong affection for animals and often volunteered with the I Heart Dogs Rescue and Animal Haven.

She was well-liked by her peers, and her presence and infectious laugh will be sorely missed. Kate is survived by her husband, Pete; her parents, Peggy and David; her sister, Mary; and her dog, Toast.
