Shaun Neal is an accomplished lawyer with a penchant for courtroom advocacy and thinking on his feet, especially at trial.

After law school, Shaun committed himself to working in the public sector, first as an attorney with Wayne County Legal Services and later as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Litigation Section of the City of Detroit Law Department.  He then founded and managed his own practice, representing clients in a range of tort, family and domestic, criminal, real property, and probate law matters, providing him opportunities to be in court almost daily and to obtain successful and meaningful results for his clients.

Shaun later transitioned to an in-house role with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he oversaw a busy docket of automobile negligence and premises liability cases, and continued his streak of favorable outcomes.  At Zausmer, Shaun continues to draw from his deep litigation background, handling insurance defense matters across various lines and claims.

Shaun received his undergraduate degree in English from Oberlin College.  He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Michigan, where he also taught English through Jackson Community College, and was awarded a prestigious Darrow Scholarship, named after former Michigan Law student Clarence Darrow, renowned as a courageous defender of human rights and perhaps the greatest trial lawyer in U.S. history.
