We are deeply saddened to share that our colleague and friend, Marie Loechle Ault, passed away on February 19, 2026.
A Senior Litigation Paralegal, Marie Ault was an integral part of our firm for almost 15 years. Aptly described as “a force of nature with a heart of gold,” Marie’s extraordinary energy lit up every room she entered. She was indispensable to the attorneys she supported, a mentor to many, and a friend to all.
Marie began her legal career answering phones at a downtown firm in the Renaissance Center. She mastered the rhythm of a law office and soon became a legal assistant and then a paralegal. She advised new paralegals to think, not just process paper. “If you don’t want to do the work, you can’t be a true paralegal,” she said.
Outside the office, Marie lived with the same energy she brought to her work. She loved travel, especially cruises and trips to Las Vegas with friends. She also enjoyed attending concerts and weekends at her cottage in Lexington. “I’ve never been bored a day in my life,” she once said.
A beloved wife, loving mother, and proud “Grandma RieRie,” Marie cherished her family and adored her grandchildren. She hosted sleepovers, shared books, shopped for shoes, and made each child feel seen.
We extend our deepest condolences to the many friends and family members who loved her. We will miss her voice, her counsel, and her laughter. The firm will not be the same without her.
