Cameron Getto Co-Authors Article to Help Human Services Agencies Navigate Lawsuits

Zausmer shareholder Cameron Getto has a long and successful record of representing foster homes, mental health facilities, and other non-profits and human services corporations involved in complex litigation. For many agencies, lawsuits are rare and infrequent, and managers may be unfamiliar with what to expect from their insurance carriers and the attorneys assigned to represent them.

In a new article co-written by Professor Daniel Pollack at the Yeshiva University School of Social Work, Cam offers guidance to agencies on the litigation process and the parts that the insurance adjuster and the lawyer play.

“The Role of Claims Adjuster and Defense Counsel in Human Service Litigation” appears in the February 2016 issue of the American Public Human Services Association’s Policy & Practice Magazine and provides useful tips for effective communication between the lawyer, the insurance representative, and the client, and how they can best work together to weather the stress, anxiety, and distraction that a lawsuit can have on the agency and its people.
