Cameron Getto Elected to State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section Council

Shareholder Cameron Getto has been elected to serve on the Council of the Negligence Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

The Negligence Law Section comprises more than 4,300 litigators from across Michigan and is dedicated to advancing scholarship, education, and the fair administration of negligence litigation in the state’s trial and appellate courts. The Section is governed by a 14-member council made up of representatives from both the plaintiff and defense bars, elected in equal numbers to serve three-year terms.

As a member of the Council, Cameron will help guide initiatives that support Michigan attorneys and the broader legal community. The Council’s work includes publishing legal commentary and case summaries, providing continuing legal education programs, evaluating proposed legislation and court rule changes, supporting scholarships for Michigan law students, and preparing amicus briefs when invited by the Michigan Supreme Court.

Cameron previously served two years as a non-voting liaison to the Council on behalf of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

“I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to serving as an elected, voting member over the next three years,” Cameron said.

For more than 20 years, Cameron has litigated complex matters involving professional negligence, products liability, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, pharmaceuticals, employment disputes, and other complex tort and commercial claims. In addition to his trial practice, he contributes to the legal profession through publications, presentations, and professional service.

We congratulate Cameron on this election and look forward to his continued contributions to the legal profession and the advancement of negligence law in Michigan.
