Zausmer Attorneys Join Battle of the Bar

Zausmer, P.C. Shareholders Cameron Getto, Nathan Scherbarth and Daniel Jedell will be playing for the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel team in a Battle of the Bar charity softball game against the Michigan Association for Justice team.

The team lineups are a virtual “who’s who” of both plaintiffs’ and defense attorneys. Charlie Langton of Fox 2 Detroit is calling the game, with the National Anthem to be performed by the Honorable Kristen D. Simmons of the 54A District Court. The umpire will be the Honorable William C. McConico, Chief Judge of the 36th District Court, with Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II attending as a special guest.

The game is from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Friday, August 11, 20203 at the Corner Ballpark at 1680 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, MI 48216. The game is a benefit for the Detroit Police Athletic League, which was founded in 1969. Led by many of the biggest names in Detroit sports, it gave children an opportunity to learn through athletics and develop the confidence and motivation to go far in life. In 1996, two young lawyers, Mike Tenbusch and Dan Varner, founded Think Detroit. Designed as an alternative to Detroit’s existing youth sports leagues, Think Detroit quickly drew children to its leagues. Realizing that together they could best serve Detroit’s youth population, the two leagues merged in 2006 to create Detroit PAL. With year-round programs that star more than 14,000 young athletes and thousands of coaches, Detroit PAL helps its athletes learn the skills needed to succeed both on and off the playing field.
